Capital needs $1 billion for infrastructure projects — mayor

AMMAN — Amman Mayor Aqel Biltaji on Monday said the cost of infrastructure projects needed in the capital is estimated at $1 billion.
In a meeting organised by the Consumer Protection Society, he said the Greater Amman Municipality has allocated JD180 million from its JD466 million budget to establish capital schemes based on the needs of local communities.
He called for changing the “consumerist culture” of residents, particularly in water and electricity.
