UK ambassador reaffirms support to Jordan

AMMAN — British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden on Monday underlined the UK’s commitment to supporting Jordan’s security, economic, political and education endeavours among others. The ambassador’s remarks came during a press meeting over the outcomes of the London initiative to support Jordan’s economic development.

The initiative was successful by all accounts and placed Jordan on the right track, in terms of the economic transformation, and has established a new partnership between the Hashemite Kingdom and the international community, he said.

This partnership, Oakden added, will help Jordan in creating a stable economic environment and support its transformation into a more productive and competitive economy.

The ambassador is due to meet Jordanian businessmen and economists next week, to brief them on the outputs of the initiative, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
