Two suspected drug smuggling attempts foiled

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have foiled suspected attempts to smuggle 422,000 narcotic pills in two separate cases, a Public Security Department (PSD) statement said on Tuesday.
In the first case, AND personnel arrested a number of suspects and confiscated 322,000 pills prepared to be allegedly smuggled outside Jordan. In the second case, the personnel arrested a suspect at a border crossing and confiscated 100,000 pills.
The department also carried out a number of raids at houses of suspected drugs dealers, in which four persons were arrested and 11,000 pills, six weapons and a large amount of ammunition were seized at the Jordan Valley.
