Trade balance deficit with EU down by 18.6% — DoS

AMMAN — Jordan's trade balance deficit with European Union countries dropped by 18.6 per cent during the first seven months, to reach some JD1.2 billion, compared with JD1.5 billion during the same period of 2019, according to the Department of Statistics' (DoS) figures.

The volume of national exports to the EU countries during the January-July period of 2020 totalled JD88 million, compared with JD88.3 million during the same period of 2019, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The department's report showed that imports from the EU countries also fell, reaching JD1.3 billion, compared with JD1.6 billion during the same period of comparison.

Jordan’s trade balance deficit dropped by 24.4 per cent in the first seven months of 2020, Petra reported.
