AMMAN — The Social Development Ministry on Tuesday highlighted the importance of partnership with civil society institutions and other partners to provide aid and support to underprivileged families, noting that it is important to respect the dignity of those who receive the aid, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In a statement, the ministry said it appreciates the support of societies, initiatives and institutions helping the poor around the Kingdom, although there appears to be individuals taking pictures of people receiving the aid and publishing them on social media websites, which the ministry said is against the moral conduct of Jordanian social work.
Social Development Minister Wajih Azaizeh instructed donors to not publish pictures on their social media accounts, adding that his ministry will monitor aid distribution by societies to ensure the dignity of underprivileged families is preserved.
