Serial burglar apprehended in Irbid

AMMAN — The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday arrested a man who had robbed 10 homes in Irbid, retrieving a number of stolen items in the process.

In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Public Security Department Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said personnel with the northern CID office received several reports of homes robbed by an unknown man who had broken into the houses in question by removing a window before stealing various items, including cash, electronic devices and gold jewellery.

The CID’s prime suspect was a man with a previous theft record, who was arrested at his home in Northern Shouneh. The man confessed after the CID discovered large amounts of loot in his home, some of which was stolen during unreported robberies.
