Saidan, German officials discuss water cooperation

AMMAN — Water Minister Motasem Saidan and German officials on Sunday went over means to enhance ties and complete projects that are implemented in cooperation between Jordan and Germany and funded by the German Development Bank (KfW).
During a meeting with development counsellor at the German embassy in Amman Nicolas von Kalm and Director of KfW Amman office Mark Schwiete, Saidan expressed the ministry’s readiness to share with Germany the investment plan for the sector over the next five years, praising the continuous support that Germany offers to the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Both sides reviewed challenges facing the water sector, such as the water loss and high costs of operation and energy. Schwiete said that the bank is scheduled to implement some investments in the sector in the coming years, while von Kalm expressed of the cooperation between the two sides.
