Safadi, Saudi foreign minister highlight commitment to resolving crisis in Syria

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi held talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan in Cairo on Tuesday.

During the meeting, both ministers underlined their deep appreciation for the longstanding historical ties between the two kingdoms, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Safadi and his Saudi counterpart also discussed their commitment to coordinating on efforts of common interests and synchronising their positions on regional developments and the effects of global issues on the region.

The ministers explored strategies to enhance collective Arab actions to resolve some of the challenges Arab nations are facing.

Ahead of the meeting of the Arab Ministerial Contact Committee on Syria, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued consultation and coordination on achieving a political solution to the crisis in Syria in line with the outcomes of the Jeddah and Amman meetings.
