AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Saturday congratulated Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on assuming his post, expressing best wishes for the new Iraqi government and the Iraqi people, according to a ministry statement. During talks over the phone, Safadi expressed Jordan’s support for Iraq’s anti-terror and rebuilding efforts, stressing that Iraq’s security and stability is a “main pillar” of regional security and stability.
Safadi and Fuad highlighted their countries’ “solid” historical ties, expressing keenness on enhancing them in various fields, in implementation of the instructions of the two countries’ leaderships.
The Iraqi parliament on Saturday approved Fuad Hussein as foreign minister in the new Iraqi government, which was formed by Mustafa Al Kazemi on May 7, the statement added.
