PM to visit Japan for talks on bilateral ties, Gaza crisis

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh is set to visit Japan on Wednesday, where he will hold discussions with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and collaboration in various fields. The prime minister, accompanied by the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh, Minister of Investment Kholoud Saqqaf, and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan will also meet several Japanese officials to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the economic, development and investment sectors, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. The visit also addresses the regional situation, especially the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. It also seeks to reach an immediate ceasefire, ensure sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid, and reach a political solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the framework of a two-state solution, in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
