PM meets with Egypt’s Grand Mufti

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Saturday met with the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Shawki Allam, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, which was attended by Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh, Khasawneh expressed pride in the well-established relations that unite Jordan and Egypt.
Khasawneh lauded the efforts exerted by Allam and Egyptian religious institutions in spreading the tolerant teachings of Islam, consolidating its sound principles, fighting extremist ideologies, and cooperating in service of religious and humanitarian issues.
The prime minister referred to the close cooperation between religious institutions and the role of fatwas in the two countries to serve common interests and the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations.
Allam praised the Kingdom's efforts under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and HRH Crown Prince Hussein in promoting the image of Islam and consolidating its true principles and established values and defending them in various forums and events.
Allam wished His Majesty King Abdullah and HRH Crown Prince Hussein well being and Jordan further progress, resilience and prosperity.
