Petra news agency celebrates 49th anniversary

AMMAN — The Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Monday marked its 49th anniversary, Petra reported in a statement.

The agency reiterated its commitment to fulfil the concept of state media that represents society and carries the message of the government and its institutions.

State Minister for Media Affairs Jumana Ghunaimat commended the agency which "has gained a name in the region thanks to its accumulated expertise over the years". Mohammad Omari, the agency's general director, said that Petra's motto will remain "serving Jordan and its people professionally and responsibly".
