AMMAN — A parliamentary delegation, headed by Lower House Speaker Abdulkarim Dughmi, on Tuesday concluded a visit to Bahrain after holding a series of meetings and discussions with several civil and military officials.

Dughmi and the delegates attended part of a Bahrain Council of Representatives session, during which Speaker Fawzia Bint Abdullah welcomed the visit and its role in further developing parliamentary cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The delegates also met with Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Interior Minister General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

During the two meetings, Dughmi stressed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, is highly keen on the unity of the Arab nation, stressing that the Kingdom always supports Arab issues.

He added that the “deep-rooted” ties between the kingdoms require both parliaments to sustain coordination and consultation on various issues of mutual interest.

Sheikh Khalifa praised the “deep-rooted brotherly” relations between Bahrain and Jordan, where King Abdullah and Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa are always keen to continue developing them in all fields.

Sheikh Rashid expressed appreciation for the continuous security cooperation and coordination between the countries, which contributed to enhancing joint security action and instilling stability in a way that guarantees preserving national gains for both countries and enhancing regional security.
