Over 162,000 families receive fuel compensation

AMMAN — Around 162,152 families had received the second tranche of cash payments replacing fuel subsidies by Saturday, the Income and Sales Tax Department said Sunday.
The department said private sector employees and unemployed beneficiaries received JD16 million, at an average of JD98.7 for each family.
The government allocated JD210 million for cash compensation in this year’s budget to be disbursed over three tranches.
