AMMAN — More than 100 trucks laden with fruits and vegetables have been stuck on the on border with Saudi Arabia since Thursday, Merchants Union of Vegetables and Fruits Exporters President Saadi Abu Hammad said Saturday.

Abu Hammad claimed that a Saudi embassy employee did not supply the Saudi border authorities with a record of the visas granted to the drivers, noting that the embassy in Jordan officially stamped the visas.

He called on the concerned authorities to intervene and resolve the problem, stressing that the goods might be spoilt if the trucks remain stuck.
