AMMAN — For the eighth day in a row, Irbid Governorate has reported no new coronavirus cases, Wael Hayajneh, the official overseeing the coronavirus situation in the north, said on Sunday.
Hayajneh, who is also a member of the National Epidemiological Committee and rapporteur of Irbid’s executive committee for crisis management, said that tests conducted from Saturday morning to Sunday morning came back negative for the eighth consecutive day, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
He added that 25 epidemiological inspection teams on Sunday went to the northern governorate’s villages as part of the National Epidemiological Committee’s comprehensive linear testing plan, which focuses on testing those working in delivery services and those who have interacted directly with the public.
Another 250 to 300 tests are expected to be conducted, increasing the total number of tests in Irbid to 5,500, he added.
