AMMAN — The National Charter Party’s politburo met on Saturday to discuss the importance of last-week’s Amman consultative meeting held to find a political and humanitarian solution to the crisis in Syria based on the Jordanian initiative.
The party expressed appreciation for the government's position, which seeks to boost joint Arab cooperation in order to find Arab-led political solutions to address regional security and stability issues, according to a party statement.
Assistant Secretary-General for Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Hamid Bataineh, stressed the importance of supporting endeavours to restore Jordanian-Syrian relations to their pre-crisis levels.
Commenting on the recently launched poll by the University of Jordan’s Centre for Strategic Studies, the party stressed the need to overcome the stereotypical image of political parties and increase citizens’ confidence in partisan politics.
