AMMAN — Minister of Youth Mohammad Nabulsi and USAID Mission Director Sherry F. Carlin on Wednesday discussed ways to enhance partnership and cooperation in youth-centred programmes and projects, as well as capacity building for those working with youth and infrastructural development.

During the meeting, Nabulsi emphasised that empowering youth and providing safe and supportive spaces, as well as developing the skills of those who work with young people, are priorities for the ministry.

The plan to activate youth centres includes programmes that meet their goals and needs, as well as a vision for model centres and a plan to empower those working with youth.

The minister also reviewed empowerment programmes derived from the executive plan of the national youth strategy, which aims to develop the skills of youth, build their capacities and enhance their participation in public life.

He highlighted the progress of joint projects with the US agency related to the development of monitoring and evaluation units in the ministry and media, praising the partnership with the US agency. Carlin said that USAID programmes encourage the participation of young men and women in the economy and public life, which is a fundamental factor for stability.
