AMMAN — Head of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee Khaldoun Haina on Wednesday commended the Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations in various fields.

During a meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Daihani, MP Haina stressed the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Highlighting the importance of the Kuwaiti investments in Jordan, the MP called for easing all obstacles facing investors in both countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Daihani said that the mission holds periodic meetings with Jordanian lawmakers, voicing keenness on proceeding with these discussions to advance bilateral relations between the nations.

The number of Jordanians in Kuwait is over 62,000, the diplomat said, adding that about 4,000 Kuwaiti students are studying in Jordan's universities.

Lauding the Kingdom’s supportive stances for Kuwait, the envoy said that Jordan has established a field hospital in Kuwait to support the Gulf country’s anti-coronavirus efforts.

Jordan and Kuwait see eye to eye on the Palestinian cause, he said, stressing his country's support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem's holy sites.

Kuwait will not normalise ties with Israel, he added, noting that the Gulf country blocks entry and transit of any truck laden with products from Israel.
