AMMAN — Head of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee MP Khaldoun Hina on Sunday emphasised the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
During the committee meeting, attended by the Canadian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Tarik Ali Khan, MP Hina emphasised the urgent need for Israeli occupation forces to halt their assaults on Palestinians and respect their right to live in peace.
He highlighted the alignment of both countries’ positions on key regional and international crises, such as Israel's violations in Jerusalem and its holy sites.

He described the relationship between Canada and the Kingdom as “strong” and “built upon strategic and diplomatic ties” that are over 60 years old.
The ambassador commended the reform efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah and the recent enactment of laws that promote political, economic and administrative reforms.
Khan emphasised that his country's support for Jordan extends to multiple areas, with a particular focus on education and the economy, in addition to development cooperation.
