Lower House calls for expulsion of Israeli ambassador

AMMAN — The Lower House on Monday called for expelling the Israeli ambassador in Amman, in protest of the Israeli attacks in Jerusalem.
The House approved the memo signed by 87 lawmakers to the government, including a request to expel the Israeli ambassador, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The majority of the 150-member Lower House on Wednesday voted in favour of a motion to expel Israel’s ambassador to Jordan and recall the Kingdom’s ambassador to Israel.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Sunday said the government would not take action for a planned motion by the Israeli lawmakers efforts to cancel Jordan’s role as custodian of the holy sites in Jerusalem, as “no official decision is made yet”.
