Lower House calls for cessation of Israeli violations at Al Aqsa

AMMAN — The Lower House's Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday denounced recurrent violations by Israeli extremists at Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif in occupied Jerusalem, under the protection of Israeli forces.

Head of the committee MP Khaldoun Heina said that the ongoing violations, provocations and restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshippers to the mosque represent a flagrant and unacceptable violation of international law and the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He said the violations and attacks on the holy sites constitute a dangerous escalation, urging Israel, as the occupying power, to immediately cease all attempts to change the existing historical and legal status quo and impose a temporal and spatial division of Al Aqsa.
