Kingdom’s dam storage capacity reaches 42% — water minister

AMMAN — Water Minister Motasem Saidan on Saturday said that Kingdom’s dam storage went up to 141.370 million cubic metres (mcm), that is 42.02 per cent of total capacity.
The storage in the same period last year amounted to 166.09mcm, that is 49.37 per cent, he added in a statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Saidan noted that 3.055mcm of water was channelled into the Kingdom's dams since Friday, while the total quantity channelled over the past 72 hours reached 8.857mcm.
The volume of water channelled into the dams since the beginning of the wet season reached 50.483mcm, the minister said, adding that the King Talal Dam has received the largest quantity over the past 72 hours of 5.22mcm.
