King condoles Turkish, Japanese leaders over train crash, floods

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday sent a cable of condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the victims of the train that derailed in northwest Turkey on Sunday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Twenty-four people were killed after five carriages of a train headed for Istanbul derailed due to heavy rain and a landslide, according to Reuters. He expressed his deepest sympathies to the president, the Turkish people and the victims› families.
Meanwhile, His Majesty on Monday sent a cable to Japanese Emperor Akihito and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, expressing his condolences over the deaths of Japanese nationals in the floods that hit the southwestern regions of the country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He offered his sympathies to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
