King congratulates Japanese emperor on ascension anniversary

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday sent a cable to Japanese Emperor Akihito, congratulating him on the anniversary of his ascension to the throne.

In the cable, the Monarch wished Akihito and the people of Japan health and prosperity.

Akihito ascended to the throne after the death of his father, Emperor Hirohito, in 1989.
