AMMAN — Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh on Saturday stressed the need to maintain sufficient stocks of oil derivatives and liquefied gas, especially during winter, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Kharabsheh’s remarks came during an inspection visit made by the minister and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission Ziad Saaida to the Amman Liquefied Petroleum Gas Filling Station in Abu Alanda.

The visit was intended to inspect the station's preparations and filling centres to ensure that stock quantities are sufficient and available.

Kharabsheh stressed the importance of updating legislation to keep pace with any developments in the oil derivatives market, stressing the need for all the concerned parties to cooperate during winter in order to provide quality services for people and meet their needs in various weather conditions.

Saaida called on the relevant authorities to intensify their efforts, attend to public complaints and address any issues immediately.

He stressed that the commission, in coordination with the concerned authorities, will follow up on the compliance of gas stations around the Kingdom through periodic inspection visits.
