JUST signs MoU to establish Cisco academies at Jordan universities

AMMAN — Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Yarmouk and Al al-Bayt universities to establish Cisco academies.
The Cisco Academy Support Centre at JUST will provide training and technical support for the academies at Yarmouk and Al al-Bayt universities, according to a statement made available to The Jordan Times.
The agreement will develop students' skills in information and communication technology and open job opportunities in the local and global markets, the statement said.
The agreements were signed by President of JUST Saeb Khreisat, President of Yarmouk University Zeidan Kafafi, President of Al al-Bayt University Adnan Al Atoom and Manager of Jordan region at Cisco Ala' Al Masri in the presence of Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthanna Gharaibeh.
Cisco Networking Academy is a programme operated by Cisco as part of its corporate social responsibility, read the statement.
The programme includes about 12,000 academies around the world and more than two million students graduate annually with the skills required by the labour market and qualifying them to obtain specialised international certificates, according to the statement.
Gharaibeh praised the importance of this agreement, which seeks to provide students with the skills necessary to enter the labour market, the statement said.
