AMMAN — The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) participated in Riyadh Travel Fair, held between Sunday and Tuesday, which aimed to promote investment, development, and sustainability of the travel and tourism sector in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia.

According to a JTB statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Minister of Tourism Nayef Fayez stressed the importance of the fair, which is considered a "prominent" event visited by many tourism agencies and airline companies.

He reiterated the importance of the Gulf market due to them being the least affected by the political situation in the region.

Director General of JTB Abdul Razzaq Arabiat said that the board is participating through a Jordanian pavilion represented by three tourism and travel companies and hotels, as well as the Royal Jordanian Airlines.

He described Jordan as a destination that is suitable to receive tourists from the Gulf countries due to its "cultural acceptance, richness and diversity of the tourism product", fair weather throughout the year, and advanced medical services.

Through its participation, the JTB seeks to promote tourism in the Kingdom and highlight its and rich cultural heritage, Arabiat said, noting that more than 30,000 visitors flocked to the fair.

Jordan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ali Kayed expressed happiness for JTB's participation, noting that the Kingdom's pavilion has witnessed a large number of visitors who inquired about the Jordanian tourism products.
