AMMAN — Jordanians took to the streets of downtown Amman and various governorates after Friday prayer in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in protest of the Israeli war against the Gaza Strip and the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.

The marches saw the participation of popular, youth and partisan groups, all gathered to condemn the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, which since 7 October has resulted in the death of 34,049 people and the wounding of 76,901, a significant number of whom are children and women.

The participants also called on Arab nations, international organisations and the world community to stand in solidarity with Gaza and place pressure on Israel to stop its ongoing war on the Strip, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

They also condemned the international community’s silence on the ongoing massacres in Gaza and decried the double standards of the international community towards the repercussions of the war on the besieged strip.

The participants praised the resilience and sacrifices of the Palestinian people in defending their land, identity, existence and legitimate right to establish their independent state.

The demonstrators also praised the position of the Kingdom in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and called for ceasing all forms of cooperation with Israel.
