AMMAN — Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers (UAC) Khaled Hanafi affirmed that Jordan is poised to become the primary hub for initiating Arab economic integration and advancing Arab investment endeavours.

In an interview with the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Hanafi said that the Kingdom will host the first economic summit for the Arab private sector, to be held during the 20th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference in October.

The conference, scheduled for October 18, organised by the union in cooperation with the Arab League and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, will witness the launch of the "Amman Declaration" specifically related to the first economic summit for the Arab private sector.

The conference will generate a vision aimed at promoting cooperation among Arab nations and will incentivise Arab investors to return to their respective countries, invest within the existing opportunities, he added.

He pointed out that the two-day conference will enable guests from both the public and private sectors, as well as business owners and investors, to appropriately acquaint themselves with projects and investment opportunities available in Arab countries, attracting those who want to localise their investments in the Kingdom. Additionally, the conference aims to establish regional Arab alliances across various investment sectors.

Hanafi expressed his gratitude to Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah for hosting the conference. He also extended his appreciation to the Jordanian private sector, represented by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, which made efforts to organise the conference.
