Jordan economy grows by 2.7% in Q3

AMMAN — Jordan’s economy grew by 2.7 per cent in the third quarter of 2023, compared with the same period in 2022, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Sunday.

The Department of Statistics said that all sectors showed growth, with hotel and restaurant sectors recording the highest growth of 6.3 per cent, contributing 0.11 percentage points to the GDP, followed by transport, storage and communication at 5.3 per cent, with their contribution standing at 0.44 percentage points. 

The agriculture, forestry and fishing sector came next at 5.1 per cent, contributing 0.20 percentage points, followed by manufacturing at 3.9 per cent, accounting for 0.73 percentage points to the 2.7-growth rate.
