AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Sunday condemned the actions of an extremist group who on Saturday tore apart a copy of the Holy Koran in the Netherlands, outside several embassies in The Hague. The Kingdom strongly rejects such irresponsible and provocative acts, which not only offend the feelings of nearly two billion Muslims worldwide, but also fuel hatred, incite violence and pose a threat to peaceful coexistence, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. The ministry underscored the importance of respecting religious symbols, promoting a culture of peace, embracing diversity and rejecting prejudice and extremism, stressing that these principles are a shared responsibility that must be upheld by all.
