Jordan ‘on right environmental track’ — ministry

AMMAN — Global partnerships have helped put Jordan on the right environmental track, and have facilitated the Local Administration Ministry's municipality supervision, Secretary General of the Ministry Hussein Mheidat said on Tuesday.
During a meeting with global organisations and donors, Mheidat reaffirmed that the solid waste department at the ministry conducted several health and environmental projects through the utilisation of modern techniques, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also called on donors, including the EU, to expand environmental services to more governorates in the Kingdom and to unify efforts to meet collection, sorting and recycling needs.
Representatives of international organisations as well as donors emphasised the necessity of unifying efforts and speeding up procedures to implement, assess and update projects depending previous results.
