JMI’s 2nd digital newsroom named after late journalist Nabil Sharif

AMMAN — In a ceremony attended by HRH Princess Rym, the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) on Monday named the second digital newsroom after the late Nabil Sharif, founder and former editor-in-chief at Addustour Newspaper, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

A number of politicians, ministers, journalists and media professionals, along with Sharif’s family and members of the JMI’s board of directors took part in the ceremony. In her speech, the princess paid tribute to Sharif, highlighting the “indelible mark” he left on Jordan’s media.

Princess Rym reminisced about working with Sharif, who held the position of media minister back at the beginning of her career as CNN representative in the Kingdom.

Sharif believed in empowering youth and their inclusion in politics and economy, she noted. The princess called on media students to draw inspiration from the legacy of the late Sharif, and to be noble and honourable voices working in service of the truth.
