AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Thursday opened a new office at the Jordanian Investors Association headquarters at the King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein Industrial Estate in Sahab. Mohammed Jitan, vice president of the Jordan Chamber of Industry and representative of the chamber’s supply, food, agricultural and livestock industries, stressed the importance of opening an additional JFDA office for expediting the transactions of approximately 150 food factories in the Sahab and Muwaqqar areas, according to a chamber statement. Jitan also called for opening similar offices across the Kingdom in a bid to shorten the issuance time for industrial origin certificates. Amjad Rashaideh, director of the JFDA’s food department, said that opening the office is part of the administration’s intent to support food industries and enhance the JFDA’s quality of services.
