AMMAN — The Higher Population Council (HPC) has participated in the 55th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development (CPD55), which is currently being held in New York between April 25 and 29.
HPC Acting Secretary General Rania Abbadi represented the Kingdom in the main meeting and extended a recorded position paper via video conference on population and sustainable development titled "Sustainable and comprehensive economic growth", the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The paper showed that the Kingdom considers Sustainable Development Goals and the action programme of the international conference on population and development as a general framework for Jordan's policies and programmes, and voluntarily offers its report on the progress made towards reaching these targets.
