Gov’t adopts new resolutions for Gazans with temporary passports

By JT - Dec 04,2018 - Last updated at Dec 04,2018

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Monday decided to adopt resolutions at the behest of Gazans residing in the Kingdom, based on the recommendation of a specialised committee formed previously by the prime minister.

Under the new resolutions, heads of Gazan families are allowed to own some forms of property, mainly 1 apartment in a residential building, an independent house on a plot of land not exceeding 1 dunum or a vacant plot of land, also not exceeding 1 dunum, for the purpose of building a residential house.

Gazans in Jordan may hold temporary 2 or 5-year Jordanian passports but are not entitled to citizenship. They reside in Jordan carrying “white cards” and do not have reunion permits in occupied Palestine. The Cabinet also allowed Gazans living in Jordan to register diesel-run vehicles under their names.
