AMMAN — Anti-Vagrancy Department personnel have arrested a woman who was begging near a medical clinic complex in Amman. The woman has been claiming that she needs money to cover the expenses of her medical treatment, the Social Development Ministry said on Monday. The ministry added that the woman was arrested according to law.
It turned out that she owns two freight trucks and has a record of charges related to assault, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The ministry called on the public not to deal with beggars in any way, shape or form, noting that it will publish their stories to acquaint the public with types of vagrancy and its dangers.
