Four die, dozens injured in Friday accidents — CDD

AMMAN – Four people were killed and 17 others were injured on Friday in separate road accidents.  

A woman aged 25 died and four others were injured after being hit by a car, in Al Yasmeen neighborhood, southwest Amman, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, which quoted officials from the Civil Defence Department (CDD) as saying that rescue teams transferred the injured to Al Bashir Hospital where they were reported to be in fair condition. 

In the southern governorate of Maan, three people were killed in two separate accidents on Friday. 

An officer at the CDD told The Jordan Times on Saturday that two people died after their car overturned near Jafr intersection in Maan, adding that another causality was reported on Friday when a truck overturned on the Desert Highway, near Eshidya area in the southern governorate. 

The officer said one man was injured in the truck accident. 

In another accident, four vehicles collided on the airport road, resulting with 8 injuries that were listed in fair conditions, according to Petra.

On the same day, a two-vehicle collision accident occurred near Al Bnayat neighbourhood, in south Amman, which resulted in four injuries that were taken to Al Bashir Hospital and were listed in fair condition.

According to a CDD statement, rescue teams and firefighters dealt with more than 308 various accidents on Friday, including road accidents, fires and health cases. 

 

Nearly 74 injuries were reported as a result of these accidents, according to the statement.
