Foreign Ministry summons Israeli charge d'affaires

AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday summoned the charge d'affaires of the Israeli embassy in Amman to convey a protest message pertaining to the illegal Israeli violations and provocations against Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sahrif, stressing the need to respect worshippers' rights to the free exercise of religious rituals without restrictions.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Haytham Abu Al Foul, said that the Israeli charge d'affaires was informed with a protest message to be immediately conveyed to his government including calls for immediately halting Israeli violations and attempts to alter the status quo at Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sahrif and impose a spatial and temporal division, which represents a serious escalation, and a condemned and unacceptable breach of international law and the obligations of Israel as an occupying force.
