AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez denounced the Israeli attack on Gaza that occurred at dawn on Tuesday and killed 13 Palestinians, including women and children, and injured at least 20 people.

“These barbaric and brutal attacks and the terror perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people will not deter them from continuing their struggle for liberation and independence, but rather will increase their strength and firmness in the face of Israeli crimes,” Fayez said.

The international community's silence on such “barbaric and racist Israeli practices”, the systematic killing of Palestinian people and destruction of holy sites and the killing of innocent people in Palestine represent war crimes that must not be tolerated, Fayez stressed.

He reaffirmed the Senate's unequivocal support for His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts in defence of the Palestinian issue and Palestinian people's right to freedom and independence, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Fayez also stressed the need for an effective Arab and international position to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and assist His Majesty's efforts.
