AMMAN — Several electronic services have been launched by the Civil Status and Passport Department (CSPD) in cooperation with the ICT Ministry.
The services will include electronic registration for birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. The ICT Minister, Muthana Gharaibeh said that the ministry rescheduled the electronic services process plan which was originally scheduled for 2020.
Gharaibeh confirmed that citizens could electronically register and apply for these services without attending the CSPD personally. He added that the documents would be delivered by the Jordan Post or Aramex.
According to Petra, Jordanians abroad can apply for the service online or by attending their embassy where a certificate will be printed. Citizens will need to create an electronic account based on the applicant's photo and ID which will be verified by the CSPD’s electronic office.
