AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved the validating reasons for the Planning and International Cooperation draft law of 2023.
The bill comes in line with the Public Sector Modernisation roadmap’s Executive Programme, which includes reviewing Planning Law No. 68 of 1971 to introduce amendments regarding the integration of roles and responsibilities among all parties involved in government performance management in order to ensure coherence in budget and resource planning.
The proposed law includes adding new tasks to the ministry's work, such as regulating the mechanism for transferring foreign funding from donor countries and international organisations to non-profit organisations.
The new regulations are intended to monitor the process and comply with relevant regulations, develop the country's economic policy and support national policy-making in coordination and cooperation with all relevant parties, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The Cabinet also approved the validating reasons for the amended system regulating and monitoring billing affairs for 2023. The Council of Ministers also endorsed the National Export Strategy (2023-2025), paving the way for the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply to take the necessary steps towards implementing the recommendations therein.
The Cabinet also approved the restructuring of the Trustees Board of the Hashemite Fund for the Reconstruction of Al Aqsa and the Dome of Rock, chaired by HRH Prince Ghazi and including the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Minister of Interior, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Chief Justice, Chairman of the Jerusalem Endowments Council and other members.
