AMMAN — Minister of State for Media Affairs Ali Ayed on Tuesday offered greetings on the 65th anniversary of the Arabisation of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the Jordan Radio, and the Amman Day.

In a phone call to a joint broadcast by the Jordan Radio and the Hawa Amman Radio, Ayed underlined that the decision of His Majesty the late King Hussein to Arabise the JAF’s command was a “brave decision” that instilled the values of sovereignty, dignity and freedom, and showcased the resilience and strength of the Jordanian state, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

On this occasion, the state minister extended greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Crown Prince Hussein, the JAF and all security agencies. Ayed also stressed that the Jordan Radio is one of the most important media achievements of the state during the past 100 years, and constitutes a national heritage that expresses the authenticity of the Jordanian state, extending greetings to its employees on the 62nd anniversary of its establishment.

On the Amman Day, Ayed pointed out that it was designated for March 2 to mark the arrival of His Majesty the late Founding King Abdullah I to Amman on the same day in 1921, that is when Amman became the capital of the Emirate of Transjordan, and later the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
