AMMAN — Saturday, September 23, will mark the autumn equinox, or the first day of autumn, where the hours of day and night will be equal, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) Director General Raed Al Khattab said Monday. Khattab said that this autumn will last for 89 days, 20 hours and 44 minutes until December 21, which marks the winter solstice, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During the first days of autumn, Jordan usually witnesses a drop in temperatures and several Red Sea troughs, which can cause unstable weather conditions and light rainfall.
