AMMAN — Authorities in Mafraq have decided to lift the quarantine on the Faa village on Monday morning, an official told the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Mafraq Governor Yasser Adwan said on Sunday that the village has been coronavirus-free for 14 days, adding that the samples collected from residents have come back negative for the third time in a row.
Adwan said that isolation over other areas in the governorate may also be lifted in the next few days, signifying a possible return to normal life in “all isolated areas” by the end of the week, provided that no new cases are detected.
He added that as of Sunday afternoon, Mafraq had not registered any new coronavirus infections for nine days.
Five areas in the governorate that are currently under quarantine will be tested for a third time, including Khanaseri, Deir Waraq, Ain Bani Hassan, a building in the Al Hashemi neighbourhood and a house in the Al Hussein neighbourhood.
