AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in an attempt to smuggle a large amount of narcotics in a truck coming from an Arab country through the Aqaba Port, a Public Security Department (PSD) statement said Sunday.
AND personnel were inspecting the truck laden with fruit and found secret compartments in which 1,050kg of hashish was hidden, and thus arrested the driver, who holds an Arab nationality.
Further investigation led to arresting two other suspects, who were supposed to receive the shipment, and they are still being questioned before being referred to the judiciary, the PSD said.
