AMMAN — Martyr Wasfi Al Tal Armoured Brigade 2, a formation of the Eastern Military Region (EMR), on Thursday carried out a tactical military exercise called "Invincible Barrier".

The drill is part of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF)’s efforts to check on its units' preparedness and their capabilities to carry out their duties, in alignment with modern military training developments, according to an army statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The exercise aims to ensure the army personnel’s capability to outline planning and military decision-making procedures, and implement defensive combat measures in all war-related phases, as required by the situation.

The drill also seeks to raise the level of training of participants in the various night-day mobilisation operations, the statement noted.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti was briefed by JAF Assistant for Operations and Training Brig. Gen. Abdullah Shdeifat and EMR's Commander Brig. Gen. Hassan Annab on the training’s stages.

Addressing the participating personnel, Huneiti said that JAF will continue to implement the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of JAF, aimed to provide "full" support to JAF's formations and units to remain on "high" preparedness so they can meet operational requirements and counter any attempts intended to tamper with Jordan's security.
