Al Balqa Applied University, World Water Academy discuss joint projects

AMMAN — President of Al Balqa Applied University Ahmad Al Ajlouni received trainers and advisers, Gerard van Houwelingen and Bram Ooms, from the World Water Academy based in the Netherlands.
Ajlouni and the Dutch experts discussed the implementation of joint projects between Al Balqa Applied University, the World Water Academy and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education based in the Netherlands, especially the WATRA project, according to a statement from the university.
WATRA is hosted by the Deanship of Scientific Research at Al Balqa Applied University. The WATRA project aims to build an innovative business plan that shapes the future of the International Research Centre for Water, Environment and Energy (IRCWEE) at the university and seeks to enhance its role in the service of research and researchers at the local and international levels.
The experts presented a summary of the World Water Academy’s activities around the world and its role in achieving sustainable development goals through specialised training programmes.
Ajlouni lauded the partnership between the university, the World Water Academy and IHE Delft.
