AMMAN — Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat on Thursday inspected several pioneering agricultural projects with a direct economic impact on the local community in Ajloun.

Hneifat visited the packing and cooling project at the Association of Northern Ajloun Villages, where this project is supported by the ministry as part of its plan to support specialised agricultural alliances and associations with JD90,000 allocated for the preparation of a production, packing, and cooling line, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The minister also checked on the Durat Ammoun factory for tomato concentrate products, which employs local residents.

Hneifat said that the ministry continues to support specialised agricultural associations and alliances that aim to develop cooperative roles through funding, guidance, and follow-up.

During the tour, he directed a group of unemployed agricultural engineers in Ajloun to establish an association and prepare a project with a clear economic feasibility study, stressing the ministry’s support for the project.

Chairman of the Ajloun Governorate Council Omar Momani appreciated the ministry's support and follow-up on the projects, adding that the implementation rate of agricultural projects within decentralisation has reached 100 per cent.

Zainab Momani, president of the Northern Ajloun Villages Association, highlighted the ministry's support that contributes to developing food manufacturing and storage of crops, which ensures their availability throughout the year to meet the needs of food manufacturing.
